2011 Taipei Marathon Information and Results Finder

The 2011 Fubon Taipei Marathon will take place at the Civic Plaza in front of Taipei City Hall on December 18.

To offer participants and the public better service through the utilization of cutting-edge information technology, the city government has set up the "Taipei Marathon Information and Results Finder."

The website of the service offers both standard version for computer users and mobile version for cell and smart phone users to ensure convenient access. Furthermore, users can also access functions such as free SMS, real-time marathon broadcast, online printing of marathon results, and more.

This year's Information and Results Finder will be utilizing SMS extensively, making the service more convenient and updated. In 2010, nearly 10,000 SMS were dispatched via the system. The application for the marathon's SMS will be accepted between December 5 and 15.

Regarding live streaming of the marathon and current position locator for athletes, these services allow the friends and family members of the runners to keep track of performance at the first moment. The organizers have also made arrangements so all display screens at the MRT platform will be broadcasting the race, allowing MRT riders to experience the excitement of the marathon.

The online printing of marathon results also gets a new function this year! Athletes will now be able to print a copy of their result online once it has been certified. This helps to reduce the wait time for participants between the day of the marathon and the day they receive their official record by mail. The printing service will be available starting December 26.

Entering its fourth year, Taipei City Government hopes that the Taipei Marathon Information and Results Finder will provide convenient and accessible service, demonstrating how information technology can make the life of residents and visitors better.
